Summer Basketball Camp

Full day and half day sessions on a fully indoor, air conditioned court, so a Scottsdale summer never cancels a workout. Real shooting reps, real dribbling reps, and real coaching staff, not a rented gym for a week.

Full day or half day, indoors and air conditioned

Camp runs on the same court as everything else at The Den, which means it is fully indoors and air conditioned for the entire session, not just the lobby. When outdoor temperatures climb into the triple digits, that is not a nice-to-have, it is the reason a camp day actually gets finished. Two schedule options are available:

Camp can be booked by the day, by the week, by the month, or across the whole summer, so a family can start with a single day and scale up once they know it is the right fit. Ask our front desk for current rates on each option, or start with a free trial to see the court before you commit to a schedule.

What a camp day actually includes

This is not open-gym babysitting with a ball on the floor. Campers work through the same equipment used in Swysh Den's year-round training: Dr. Dish shooting machines across five dedicated courts in 30-minute sessions, dribbling stations in 20-minute daily blocks, and group skills clinics run in 55-minute sessions. Between structured blocks, campers get access to the Interactive Wall for gamified agility and reaction work, plus open pick-up games on the main court.

Shooting Reps

Dr. Dish shooting machines on five dedicated courts, worked in 30-minute sessions.

Ballhandling

Dedicated dribbling stations built into daily 20-minute blocks.

Skills Clinics

55-minute group sessions covering the fundamentals coaches actually want reinforced.

Interactive Wall

Gamified agility and reaction training between structured blocks.

Coached by the same staff behind the year-round programs

Camp is not staffed separately from the rest of the facility. It draws on the same coaching group running Swysh Den's memberships and clinics, including Basketball Program Director Michael "Ruff" Ruffin, a nine-season NBA veteran who has since worked as an NBA and G League player-development coach, and Head of Competitive Basketball William "JR" Coleman, founder of TheAcademyPHX. General Manager Brandon Smith, a former Division 1 athlete and Certified Basketball Instructor, oversees day-to-day operations, and Sports Performance Specialist J Sharpe III of Stay Sharpe Performance is on staff for athletic performance work. Trainers on the floor include Jordan Schiller, Kai Warren, Blake Kramer, Zach Williamson, and Mathias Clairis-Gauthier.

ESA-approved for Arizona families

Swysh Den is an ESA-approved vendor for basketball tutoring in Arizona, which is worth checking against your own Empowerment Scholarship Account before you assume camp has to come entirely out of pocket.
